The first race weekend of the season was a good one for the BHR/Piper/Fast Forward team. With a strong field of the west coasts fastest FF drivers on hand for the first SCCA Major in the Western Conference, everyone was excited to get the season started. In Friday testing, Nicky Hays jumped to the top of the time charts, and then backed that up by qualifying on pole position for Saturday's race. In the Saturday race, Nicky finished second behind Skip Streets, and Brad found his way to the podium with a 3rd place finish. The result was a sweep of the podium positions for Piper Race Cars.

Sunday's race start was similar to Saturday, with both BHR cars losing ground on the first lap. But this time, Nicky quickly recovered to take the lead on lap 4, and then pull away for the victory in his first race weekend. Meanwhile Brad recovered from 7th to finish in 4th position. 

Overall it was a great start to the season for the team, and an awesome first race weekend for Nicky.
